Are we really surprised..?
Two Afghan citizens, who have been training at Moody Air Force Base in Georgia, have reportedly gone missing.
Local and federal law enforcement officials are looking for the pair who did not show up to their training assignment on Monday.
According to a statement released by the Air Force on Tuesday evening:
“The students have trained alongside American counterparts for the entirety of 2015 and do not pose any apparent threat.
There is a well-coordinated process among federal agencies to locate the individuals as quickly as possible and return them accordingly to the proper authorities to manage their present situation.
This isn’t the first time international trainees have gone missing while training in the United States. In September of 2014, three Afghan military trainees disappeared from a training exercise in Massachusetts. The trio was detained trying to cross into Canada.
Obviously, due to the recent terror attack in San Bernardino, this situation has created more tension than the 2014 incident.
